Trump injured after assassination attempt

Democrats and Republicans unite for condemnation

Gunshots were heard at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump instinctively covered his ears and took cover. Secret Service agents quickly moved to shield him on stage. After the situation was under control, Trump stood up and encouraged the crowd by raising his fist and saying "Fight, Fight!" He was then escorted to the motorcade, with blood coming from his ear.

Melania Trump, the former First Lady, recently addressed the alarming incident in which an assailant targeted her husband. She underscored the profound impact of this experience on their lives, emphasizing the imperative of resilience in the face of adversity.

The Secret Service has confirmed that both a spectator at the rally and the gunman have passed away, while 2 others are in critical condition.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the incident involving former President Trump, now officially considering it as an assassination attempt.

The gunman was confirmed as 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, who fired multiple shots. A bullet grazed Trump’s upper right ear, leaving him injured.

Crooks attempted to assassinate the former president using an AR-15-style rifle, but the Secret Service neutralized the threat.

President Biden expressed his gratitude, saying, "I’m grateful to hear he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we wait for further information." Additionally, President Bush II conveyed his gratitude, stating, "Laura and I are grateful that President Trump is safe following the cowardly attack on his life. And we commend the men and women of the Secret Service for their speedy response."

Barack Obama emphasized, "There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don't yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn't seriously hurt. Let's use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics."

Former President Bill Clinton emphasized, "Violence has no place in America, particularly within our political process. Hillary and I are grateful for President Trump's safety, deeply saddened by the impact of the attack at today's rally in Pennsylvania, and appreciative of the prompt response by the U.S. Secret Service."
