Mark Cuban's Google Account was hacked by "Sophisticated" Bad actors

The "Shark Tank" star said someone "called and said I had a intruder and spoofed [Google's} recovery methods."

Online scams and hacks are not selective; they can ensnare anyone, including tech billionaires and celebrities. These high-profile individuals are not immune to fraud, as evidenced by numerous incidents where even the most successful and famous have been deceived.

Over the weekend, "Shark Tank" celebrity and healthcare magnate Mark Cuban informed his followers on X (formerly known as Twitter) through a sequence of posts, which have since been removed, that he was ensnared by a scam resulting in the loss of access to his Google account.

"Attention @google @sundarpichai: My account was compromised due to a call from someone claiming to be Noah at 650-203-0000, who falsely alerted me to an intrusion and manipulated Google's recovery protocols," Cuban stated. "Please disregard any communication from my account post 3:30 pm PST, as it is not authorized by me."

Mark Cuban reported that he was targeted by a series of phone calls from a number associated with Google Assistant, claiming unauthorized access to his account from an unrecognized device. This incident is a reminder of the importance of vigilance in digital security, as even sophisticated users can be susceptible to such scams.
